Juice Feasting – First Drink – MSM

Today is Day 6 of my Juice Feast.  Still I’ve not managed to drink more than 2.5 quarts/liters of juice.  As well as about 2 quarts of water and 8oz of Kombucha. (I’ll explain Kombucha in another post).   I’ve not really been very active however so I may just not need as much juice right now.  I’ve been doing a lot of computer work at home and at the office.    I did go to my Belly Dance class last night which was great.  And tonight I had a few rounds of Dance Dance Revolution with Kali (my daughter). I even beat her once too. It had nothing to do with the fact I was on basic and she was on advanced, honest…  Ok.. maybe a little.

Well anyway….

The first drink of the day on a Juice Feast is recommended to be 1 quart of water with the juice of 1/2 a lemon and 1-3 tablespoons of MSM powder.   (I’ve made it with 1/2 lime as well that was good.)

Well I wondered what the heck is MSM and when I went to the health food store and asked for SMS they thought I was crazy.  Until I saw MSM on the shelf and said “oops I think I meant this.”

Well MSM is actually Methylsulfonylmethane . Say that 3 times fast…  It is a form of sulfur that is naturally found in food and in our bodies.  It is sold as a nutritional supplement for pain and inflammatory conditions.

According to “The Miracle of MSM” by Stanley W. Jacob M.D., Ronald M. Lawrence M.D., Ph.D. and Martin Zucker MSM is that natural solution for pain and relieves;

  • Back Pain
  • Headaches
  • Muscle Pain
  • Degenerative Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Tendinitis and Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorder)
  • Post-traumatic Pain and Inflammation
  • Allergies

    Sadly I think the only ones who will think this is solid advice, are teh people who already know it.
